For advanced players
Workshops with structure and flow.
These workshops are for players with experience – not beginner workshops. Basic playing practice is a prerequisite. On that foundation we work on genuine musical development – with clear methods, personal feedback and a safe environment.

What would you like to develop?
Each format has a clear musical focus and tools you can continue using at home.
Know Your Instrument
Decode your Scale
Understand your Kurd scale, chords, inversions and bottom notes directly on your instrument.
Learn more
You already play a little and can find chords, but it is not always clear why something works. Here you develop a practical understanding of your scale directly on your instrument, without theory overload.
What you take away:
A clear map of your handpan, a real understanding of chords and inversions, and a purposeful way to use bottom notes as a foundation. You also receive a comprehensive handout for use at home.
Groove Flow
Turn Grooves into Songs
Connect rhythm, chords and accompaniment into flowing musical structures.
Learn more
You have patterns that work, but lose the flow when you vary them or lack a clear direction. Groove Flow gives you a playable path from a groove to a complete musical piece.
What you take away:
You connect rhythm, chords and accompaniment, learn to vary without losing the flow, and develop your material into a clear musical structure – practical, playful and without theory overload.
Song Lab
Unlock your Creativity
Turn motifs and grooves into complete songs with tension, transitions and storytelling.
Learn more
You have a motif, groove or chord progression, but it often remains a loop rather than becoming a complete song. Song Lab gives you a clear toolkit for shaping it into a piece step by step.
What you take away:
Practical methods for intros, builds, breaks and releases, for creating tension through dynamics and density, and for clean transitions – so you can continue developing your own ideas independently at home.
Play & Jam Together
Connect through Music
Develop timing, presence and musical communication for genuine ensemble playing.
Learn more
Good ensemble playing is more than playing the same groove at the same time. It grows from listening, timing, presence and knowing when to lead, support or intentionally leave space.
What you take away:
Greater confidence in free and guided jams, a finer sense of dynamics and musical roles, and practical impulses that make playing together feel alive and connected.
Playing levels
Guidance, not judgement.
The levels help align pace, content and group dynamics. The workshops require at least Level 2 – a solid basic level of handpan playing. Tap a level for the definition.
Level 1ExplorerFirst contact · curiosity · no pressure
You have never played handpan – or only tried it briefly once. You are curious, open and interested in experiencing the instrument without any pressure.
Level 2Foundations PlayerFoundation · clarity · confidence
You have already had contact with the handpan and some first playing experience. You have access to an instrument, are motivated to play regularly and intend to learn and develop.
Level 3Developing MusicianFlow · combination · musical intuition
You can fluently play a right/left 4/4 groove with 2–4 variations and consciously switch between chords and arpeggios.
Level 4Creative PlayerExpression · composition · musical independence
You can consciously combine groove, chords, arpeggios and melodic elements into musical structures and are able to control dynamics deliberately.
Level 5Independent MusicianFinesse · depth · exchange
You play fluently and independently. You can compose, improvise and adapt in solo and group settings. You confidently master groove, harmony, arpeggios, melody, dynamics and structure. You practise independently and reflect on your own playing.
